Adobe FrameMaker: Splitting One Table into Multiple Tables

This question just came in from one of my past Adobe FrameMaker students:
I have a table with many rows and I want to split it into 5 tables. Not changing content. Just want to break it up. Say, take a 50-row table and break it into 5 ten-tow tables with space between each separate table. I can’t figure it out!!! Is this easy?
Yes, this should be an easy one. (My favorite kind, especially on a Friday afternoon!).
- Highlight the first ten rows.
- Choose Edit > Cut (Ctrl+x).
- Choose Remove Cells from Table and click the Cut button.
- Click an insertion point where you’d like the new table to go.
- Choose Edit > Paste (Ctrl+v).
Here’s my production tip: while you still have one single table, finalize all of the formatting. Set up the paragraph formats, the table format, the column widths, etc. You mentioned spacing between the tables, so you want to remember that you can put that into the table format, as Space Above or Below (or a combination).
By formatting the whole table first, when you break it into the 5 individual tables you won’t have anything left to do but sit back and admire your work.
Another one for you. Is it possible to split the text into two or more columns, as you can in Word.
What I’m trying to achieve is e.g if I have 10 rows of text in a table, the last 5 rows will roll over to the right side of the first 5 rows (with a a middle think column to separate).
That will happen automatically if the table is a 2-column frame.
