Course Objectives
Are you working on designing and updating web pages? Or would you like to get started? This two-day class is designed for the new Dreamweaver user, and will provide you with the skills to update existing web pages as well as create your own from scratch. Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS is a prerequisite for this class.
Introduction to Dreamweaver CS6 focuses on the core features of Dreamweaver, including:
Customizing your Workspace
This lesson introduces you to the Dreamweaver interface and gets you in touch with some of the power hiding under the hood.
HTML Basics
HTML is the backbone of the web and controls the structure of your web page. In this lesson you will famiiiarize yourself HTML basics.
CSS Basics
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) control the formatting and organization of your web page. In this lesson you will learn the difference between HTML & CSS formatting, and how to use CSS to control the look and feel of your web page.
Getting a Quick Start
in this lesson, you will learn how to define a new site and create a sample page with text, images, and basic CSS. Preview your first web page in Live vew and a browser.
Creating a Page Layout
We cover site design basics, including working from thumbnails and wireframes and learn how to insert and format new components into a predefined CSS layout..
Working with Cascading Style Sheets
Learn more about CSS, including attaching an external style sheet, redefining styles, and creating custom classes and descendant selectors.
Working with Text, Lists, & Tables
Learn text controls: headings, lists, blockquotes, tables plus spell-check and Search & Replace.
Working with Images
Learn a variety of ways to work with images in Dreamweaver, including inline images, background images, Photoshop Smart Objects and more.
Working with Navigation
Add links, a navigation bar and tabbed panels to your page.
